Ribbons & Supplies

Print yield

The number of cards a ribbon can print before it runs out.

Yield (for example, 250 prints per roll) helps you estimate supply costs. Full-color ribbons yield fewer prints than monochrome ribbons.

More on this in what YMCKO means and which one you need.

Yield is the number to divide into a ribbon's price to get your true per-card cost, not the price of the roll. Full-color YMCKO rolls typically yield 200 to 300 cards; monochrome rolls yield thousands. Higher-volume programs should budget by yield, not by roll.
