Lamination

Applying a protective clear or holographic film over a card for durability and security.

Lamination greatly extends card life and can add holographic security. It requires a printer with a laminating module.

More on this in direct-to-card versus retransfer printing.

Lamination bonds a clear or holographic patch over the finished card, greatly extending its life against abrasion and, with a custom hologram, deterring counterfeiting. It requires a printer with a laminating module, so it is a spec to decide before you buy, not a later add-on on most models.
