DPI
Dots per inch, a measure of print resolution.
Most ID card printers print at 300 DPI; some retransfer models reach 600 DPI for finer detail.

300 DPI is the standard and looks crisp for text, logos, and photos on an ID; 600 DPI (on some retransfer models) resolves finer detail like tiny text and security elements. For most programs 300 DPI is plenty, do not pay for 600 unless you have a specific need.
