Expiring badge
A visitor badge with a timing layer that turns visibly void a set period after it is activated.
Self-expiring badges carry a dye that migrates to the front face over a fixed window, commonly overnight, so a badge kept and reused the next day reads as void on sight. The clock starts at activation rather than at printing, which is why unactivated stock can sit in a drawer between busy weeks.
