Chris Rajki shows where your order actually ships from, and a few pieces of ID card history Card Imaging has collected over four decades.
Stocked, not drop shipped
Card Imaging stocks what it sells online and does not drop ship. Printers from Evolis, Fargo and Magicard are stored and shipped from our own warehouse, and each one comes with a warranty and a single point of contact for support and repairs.
The shelves also hold the supplies that keep printers running: color ribbons and retransfer film, cleaning cards and slot punches, such as the color ribbon for the Fargo DTC4500e.
The rest of the tour is a small museum of the trade: an Eltron P520 from before Eltron became part of Zebra, a printer that weighed around 50 pounds when today's models weigh about 20, a Polaroid ID camera from the 1950s, and the old print, cut and hot-press laminate method that came before card printers. Even the software has shrunk, from a large boxed set to a single card or barcode.
The short version
- Printers and supplies in stock, with no drop shipping.
- A warranty and a point of contact on every printer.
- Forty years of ID card history on the shelves.
