Single-sided
Printing on the front of the card only.
Single-sided printing is economical when the back of the card is blank or only carries a mag stripe.
More on this in how to choose an ID card printer.
Single-sided is the economical choice when the back of the card is blank or only carries a mag stripe. You can still print the back manually by flipping cards, fine for a handful, tedious for hundreds, which is when a dual-sided printer pays for itself.
