Encoding & Access

Proximity card

A 125 kHz contactless card that sends a fixed ID to a reader; common for basic door access.

Prox cards are simple, proven, and inexpensive. They broadcast a number the reader passes to your access controller.

Prox is the workhorse of basic door access, cheap, proven, and simple, but it broadcasts a fixed number and offers little protection against cloning. Many organizations are migrating from 125 kHz prox to 13.56 MHz smart cards for that reason. We program prox to your facility code and format.
