What rebadging means

Rebadging is issuing new ID cards to the people you already have, whether that's a new logo after a rebrand, a cleaner card design, more durable stock, or a more secure credential. The goal is a consistent, up-to-date badge in every wallet and on every lanyard, without disrupting the access and identification your badges already do every day.

When organizations rebadge

• A rebrand or merger that changes your logo, name, or colors on every badge.
• A new printer brand or card stock that needs a matched, consistent design across the population.
• A security upgrade from easily cloned 125 kHz prox to encrypted HID iCLASS SE or SEOS credentials.
• Worn, mismatched, or inconsistent badges accumulated over years of ad-hoc reissues.
• A new access-control system that expects a different card format (often paired with a full system migration).

• Audit your current cards, credential technology, and card format so new cards match or cleanly upgrade what your readers expect.
• Design the new card, front and back, on-brand and print-ready.
• Print and encode in bulk, full-color single- or dual-sided, with the right encoding written to each card.
• Phase the rollout so employees and members swap to the new badge in an orderly way instead of all at once.

Keep people moving

The last thing a rebadge should do is leave anyone stuck at a door or a desk. We plan the changeover so old and new badges keep working through the transition, and coordinate the handoff so nobody loses access mid-switch. For large populations we can print and ship in waves that match your rollout schedule.

Bulk re-encoding and credential upgrades

Rebadging is the natural moment to improve security. We re-encode cards to your facility code and format, and can move you from legacy HID Prox up to iCLASS SE, iCLASS SR, or SEOS so the new badge is both better looking and harder to clone. We program HID credentials to your exact facility code and format; we do not program generic MIFARE or non-HID smart chips.

Rebadging or migration?
